Wales got off to a solid start in World Cup qualifying, but lost their last two friendlies against England and Canada without scoring a single goal. They are third in the group with ten points from their first five matches, suffering their only defeat so far against Belgium. However a win against the Belgians could see them take the lead. Belgium, along with North Macedonia are the only undefeated teams in the group so far although they have also played one game less than the Macedonians.
